Finished 86th out of 12,000 in NL Holdem tourney.
When I need my hold em fix, and don’t have the time to sit down and concentrate on a cash game, I’ll register in a freeroll at PokerStars. Generally I am getting other things done, like laundry, dinner, cleaning, watching sports, etc. I do some sitting out. Sometimes I play these to have an extra table going while playing cash games too. Depending on the game (hold em, omaha, stud, razz, etc), there are usually 10,000 or 12,000 players, and only the top 99 places move on. These freerolls are just Satellite tourneys to a real money tourney. So these are no risk-low reward, but hey I’m still playing hold em for something. I’ve played quite a few of these, and last night was the first time I punched a ticket to the real money tourney, which will be this Sunday.
