Roger Clemens: My wife took HGH, not me!

I’m starting to wonder just how far Roger Clemens will go to try and prove he didn’t take HGH or steroids? From Andy Pettitte’s affidavit:

Pettitte said in the affidavit that he asked Clemens in 2005 what he would do if asked about performance-enhancing substances, given his admission years earlier.

Pettitte said Clemens responded by saying Pettitte misunderstood the previous exchange in 1999 or 2000 and that, in fact, Clemens had been talking about HGH use by his wife in the original conversation.

Wow, what a joke!?  I’m suppose to believe that?  Even worse, Clemens claims he didn’t know McNamee was injecting his wife with HGH, it was being done behind his back.  Right.  Way to go Rocket, throw your wife under the bus to save your own ass.  Of course, his wife must have agreed to help clear his good name, because Clemens got a chance to read a statement from his wife that basically stated exactly what he said.  Not surprising, just sad.
