Beating a dead donkey.
Wow, for 3 hours straight tonight I had a bad run of cards. It was the night of the donkey so I tried to remain patient, but that was a true test considering it took 3 hours. Saw a lot of donkeys go through their stacks in 15 minutes and kept wishing I could reap the rewards. Finally though I had A-A on the button. Raised the BB .12 to .14, and of course two donkeys call (I’m not complaining). Flop comes 6-6-7 rainbow, I bet .30, donkey 1 folds donkey 2 raises all-in and has me more than covered. I thought he might have a 6 because that’s what donkeys play on preflop raises, but I only thought for about 3 seconds and called. He had A-J off suit, guess he was representing the 6 or figured I’d fold or his high card was boss? In all those cases it’s a silly bet, a call probably means your beat, again not complaining. So after bleeding half my stack for 3 hours I basically broke even for the night on that one hand. It was looking like it was going to be a bad night, with any cards it could have been a great night.
