Multi-table experiment went well for one night.
For at least one night the extra multi-table went well. I play micro stakes no limit holdem online, and just like the stakes I play the number of tables I play is far from extreme. I was playing 2 tables but tried 3 last night. The nice thing about just 3 tables (or 4 even) is I was still able to keep an eye on each table and gather important information from my opponents. I see two main advantages to playing multiple tables. One, you see more hands in less time, meaning you should see better hands more often (more hands should mean less variance also). Two, which has a lot to do with one, you can be more patient and wait for premium hands. Both very important factors, especially against players you feel you can exploit. When I played one table, I would get tired of waiting and just start playing hands I shouldn’t. I know this was just one night so I’m not getting all excited, I know variance is waiting for me, but the experiment continues tonight.
