What kind of action do you think you’d get from this flop with no pre-flop raises? Q
2
7
. Obviously everyones hole cards matter, but here is the action before we get that far:
SB bets $0.02, Hero raises to $0.08, CO folds, SB raises to $0.14, Hero raises to $0.50, SB raises to $0.86, Hero raises to $2.98 and is All-In, SB calls $2.12.
Now I had 7
7
in the hole giving me three 7’s, so I was more then happy to get all-in at this point. The only hand that has me beat is pocket Q’s, but with no pre-flop raising I wasn’t worried about that. I figured I was up against a heart flush draw. Come to find out, I was up against top pair, no kicker- Q
3
. The turn was a 5
and the river was a 3
. I shouldn’t question bad play when I benefit from it, but this one really left me scratching my head?

That is a terrible call by SB! At worst, he had to figure you had Q-better kicker.
But these are the types of call/plays you will find in micro. Once you move up a bit, these types of players are drawn out. Even though you want them at the table.

Yeah. My current goal is to get my bankroll to $100 then move up. I know I can only swim with the fishes for so long.
You are playing .02/.04 now? When you move up it will be .05/.10?
Worse case scenario, if you don’t do well, you can always go back and build the bankroll. Most players have done that.

Actually I am playing .01/.02 NL, don’t laugh. Plan is to get my bankroll to $100 then move to .02/.05, conservative yes, check out my About for more info on why I’m being a bit conservative.
I’m not too worried about moving up, could probably do it right now, but want I to stick to the goals I set.
