Live holdem Saturday night, online holdem last night.
I played my first live holdem in ages this past weekend. It was a friendly $0.05/$0.10 no limit holdem game with most people buying in for $10. We started with 9 people at the table, 3 of which play regularly on PokerStars like me. It requires a lot more patience to play a live game when you’re used to seeing a ton of hands per hour online. We only played for about 3 hours and I had a good night.
Last night I played online and had a good night, especially considering out of my last 5 sessions I had lost about $43. I won about $12 and most of the night I was playing just 2 tables instead of 3. I didn’t plan it like this, but I kept finding myself looking for a 3rd table since one of them always ended up having only 3 or 4 people. Finally I just left it at 2 fast tables and it worked out well. I’ve also decided to keep weekly stats on my bankroll now, instead of stats on each session. I’m getting tired of the micro-management of my bankroll. As of right now I’m at about $180 and the theoretical plan is to move back up to $10NL at $200, but I reserve the right to change my mind when the time comes.
