An update as I begin another week.

I won $2.91 this week, sad but true.  The bankroll has creeped up to $165.59.  Hard to believe just a month ago it was up to $212 and I was playing $10NL hold ‘em.  Then the wheels came off and in 3 sessions I was back down to $5NL and have been fighting my way back ever since.  It isn’t all doom and gloom though, I have to remember this all started with $2.00 from a freeroll.  I’m actually feeling good about my game, I might just have to learn to quit while I’m ahead.  I tend to do well and then one or two hands basically wipe out an hour of good play.  Results aside, I feel some good things happening.  I started mixing in sit and gos into my normal cash games, it went well for a while, but starting tonight I think I’ll skip the sit and gos and just multi-table like I used to.  If I feel I need a change of pace I’ll throw in a sit and go.  Well, off to the virtual tables for me.

I think that it’s good you’re moving down limits when you are losing money. Too many people stick with the same limit when they’re losing money and then their bankroll dries up.

Bankroll management is one thing I’ve been real good at. It was a year ago I won $2.00 in a freeroll, and I’m still working off that $2.00. I think the key is to not let my pride get in the way.

  3. Keep it up 72 .. You’ll get there eventually .. it took me 4 years but I have now finally made a breakthrough and am beating the games for a sick ROI. In your shoes I would try to play the $0.25 mtts on stars as they take NO RAKE on these … After beating those for a while, try the $1 / 90 mans, they are very soft as well and can be beat for a huge ROI.
Once you get to $400, move to the $4 / 180 mans, these are the sickest thing ever … you would think for $4 they know what they are doing, but in fact they are just burning monies :)

    Good luck at the tables

Funny thing is I’ve basically always played 6-max cash games, never been a big fan of tourneys. Maybe I should give it another shot though. Thanks for stopping by, good luck!
