Player folds with 10 cents left in his stack.

Notice he bets all 3 streets, calls my raises, his river bet of $0.50 leaves him with $0.10 left in his stack, and then he folds after investing $1.55 in the pot.  For $0.10!?  Too funny.  Must have had a REALLY bad hand he didn’t want anyone to see.

Work has kept me from blogging, but not from playing hold ‘em.

I work on computers all day, every day for a living, so generally the only computer time I look forward to at home is playing hold ‘em online.  Hence, I try to do my blogging at work while at lunch or if it is slow, which hasn’t been an option lately.  Today isn’t any slower, [...]

Make better use of your online poker room software.

How do you make money at online hold ‘em?  You take advantage of players that aren’t very good, or at the very least not as good as you.  With that in mind, it seems counterproductive to tell someone in the chat box how bad they are or specifically what they did wrong when they suck-out [...]

The downs and ups of no limit Hold ‘em.

My last two sessions (Friday night and Saturday morning) are a perfect example of how the ups and downs of no limit hold ‘em can drive a person crazy.  On Friday I played for 3 hours, which is a very long session for me, and quit at about 1:40am Saturday morning down $20.  For most [...]

All good things must come to an end.

That great hold ‘em tip I gave a few posts back, bet until the fold, well it back fired on me early and often last night.  I played for about 3 hours, a very long session for me, and lost about $20.  I even played a sit-n-go to try to mix things up a bit [...]

Quick Hold ‘em update.

I played Sunday night after my last hold ‘em post but haven’t played since.  My bankroll is over $200 again and it’s been about 45 days since it was last over $200.  Last time $200 was my goal to move to $10NL, but as you can see things didn’t go well and I’ve been playing [...]

Are gas prices killing you? Winning a 2009 Civic Hybrid could help.

Charter Communications is running a contest and giving away a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid to the winner. That is a $24,000 car that gets up to 45 mpg on the highway, has a 160 watt stereo system, USB audio interface, MP3 auxiliary input jack, and the beloved continuously variable transmission. Finally, a giveaway [...]

The one tip that helped me play better no limit holdem this week.

Bet until they fold, and fold if they raise. Of course that is over-simplified.  I still think about table position, the type of player(s) I’m in a hand with, mix up my play some, and I’m not playing trash hands and just bluffing away.  That being said, the majority of the players at micro stakes [...]

2008 Nissan Altima: My thoughts after 6000 miles.

Yesterday I went over 6000 miles on my 2008 Nissan Altima and thought now would be a good time to expand on my past reviews of the car.  Not much has changed which bodes well for the car, considering I’ve had nothing but good things to say about it.  Now that I’ve had some serious [...]
