Just a few days ago I found out an old friend had an extra ticket to Metallica’s January 13th concert in Detroit. Being a long time fan I snatched up the ticket as fast as I could. I’ve never seen them in concert though, and I suspect this will be my only chance, so this is pretty special to me. There are 4 of us going and we’re making the most of it. It’s only about a 3 hour drive each way, but we’re basically taking 2 days off so we can drive down early, check into a motel, get some food and drinks before the show, and take a cab to and from the show so if we have one too many beers there are no worries. Once I found out I was going, I did what I do, took a photo.

I havent seen em since the …..And Justice tour when we saw them so many times that year I think I OD’ed on it. First @ the 100 club, then Donnington Monsters Of Rock Festival, All three nights at Hammersmith Odeon and finally jumping on a coach and seeing them in Hamburg, Germany.

Awesome! I had a blast and they sounded good. I’m still holding out hope they’ll be coming to my home town here when they announce their second round of tour dates. If they do they’d be playing about 5 minutes from my house!
