The Detroit Pistons will probably (I hope) limp into the playoffs in 7th or 8th place, only to be bounced by Boston or Cleveland. The best case scenario I see is they hold onto 6th place but then they get the Orlando Magic in the first round, hardly a good scenario. The worst case scenario is they miss the playoffs, which is totally plausible considering 2 games seperate them and the 3 teams in the 7th, 8th and 9th spots. I don’t want to think about that though.
Each game I watch I think this is where they’ll break out of their funk, but after seeing them down 63-29 at one point in their last game against Cleveland, I’m convinced this team is less and less like a team everyday. Tonight they continue their road trip against Miami who is just ahead of them in the standings, a loss tonight will put them below .500 for the season, which is a bit of a shock consider they were once 10 games over .500 this season. It’s tough to watch sometimes because they’ve been so successful the past 6 years or so, but in the end I know Joe Dumars has a grand plan so I’m not too worried about one down year.

Hey there. As great as Joe Dumars has been, it was a monstrous mistake to have gotten rid of Chauncey Billups. Iverson has always been a shoot first kinda guard and as feisty and tough as he is, he’s not yet proven to have the leadership to lead a team. Billups, on the other hand, has provided Denver with that leadership and are now better because of it. The Detroit is in the mist of a 7 game slide and I see them sliding right out of the playoffs. Later.

I have to agree the Billups / Iverson trade didn’t make the team better. I think this was strictly a business move though. Joe is basically saying Rodney Stuckey is the future point guard. Combine that with Billups nearing the end of his career (or at the very least likely reached the peak of his career) and Joe did what he had to do for the long term health of the team. This does 2 things, clears the way for Stuckey and assuming Iverson isn’t resigned clears cap space for going after key free agents. Maybe Rasheed isn’t part of Joe’s plan either? I think Chris Bosh is available after this season and Dwayne Wade and LeBron James are available after next season. I’m not saying any of them will end up as Pistons but I do believe the Pistons are putting themselves in a position to have a chance at some elite players.
I am a Raptors fan from Argentina. Very nice Raptors information.
I am a big fan of Chris Bosh and Jose Calderon and am hoping to see the Raptors get to the playoffs.
I hope to be in Toronto for a game this fall.
Well I’d love to see Chris Bosh become a Piston!
