I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without knowing about Apture. Just yesterday though I was browsing the web when I came across a website using Apture (Tim Ferris‘ blog at FourHourWorkWeek). By now you’ve likely already noticed the links I’ve included in this post aren’t your average links. Now I’ve only been using Apture since yesterday, but I already have 2 reasons I love it.
First, it is super easy to search over 50 content sources (like Flickr, Wikipedia, Twitter, ESPN, Reuters, and many more) and plug in which multimedia and information you want from the results. All the links above took me all of about 20 seconds each to search and create the link, and I just started using the service! Second, visitors to your site can view the content without ever leaving your site. For instance, you can watch this video of my 1993 Cobra shifting through the gears in a slick little layered pop-up. You’ll also notice I added a photo of my 1993 SVT Mustang Cobra to that link which shows up at the bottom of the video. Click the photo while the video is playing and it seamlessly pops up in another window. SLICK! Both content took me just seconds to find through the search and just seconds to insert into my post. It’s so easy, and so cool, I highly recommend you check it out if you run a website or blog. Oh, and it’s FREE!
To finish this short review, I’m going to embed a video of an epic burnout (I embedded the video using Apture). If you start using Apture let me know your thoughts and I’d like to see how you’re utilizing it.

I love Apture. I use it in complement with another service called Zemanta. Zemanta auto suggests links, and then anything extra I use Apture for. With the two it makes it possible for me to create rich posts in almost no time at all.
Roy F. Tottie´s last blog ..The One About I Have My Suspicions About What Rupert Murdoch Is Saving And It Isn’t Journalism.
I’ll have to check out Zemanta. Thanks for stopping by!
